This policy explains what personal information MoveRemoval collects, why we collect it, how we look after it and what rights you have. It should be read alongside our Terms & Conditions, which contain our contractual data protection commitments.
1. Who we are
MoveRemoval ("we", "us", "our") provides removal, man-and-van and property clearance services across West Yorkshire and Greater Manchester. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can contact us at moveremovaluk@gmail.com or on 07886 251928.
2. The information we collect
We only collect what we need in order to quote for, arrange and carry out your move or clearance:
- Identity and contact details: your name, email address and telephone number.
- Service details: collection and delivery addresses, property type and access, preferred dates, and a description of the items to be moved or cleared.
- Correspondence: messages you send us by web form, email, WhatsApp, SMS or telephone, and our notes of those conversations.
- Payment information: the amount, method and date of payment. We do not store full card details.
- Technical data: basic, anonymous information your browser sends when you visit this website, such as page requested and approximate region.
3. How we use your information
We use your personal data to:
- prepare and send you a quotation;
- plan, staff and carry out your booking;
- contact you before, during and after the job about arrangements;
- take payment and issue receipts or invoices;
- handle any claim, complaint or insurance matter;
- comply with our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
4. Our lawful bases
We rely on performance of a contract (to quote for and deliver the services you request), our legitimate interests (to run our business, keep records and defend claims), legal obligation (tax, accounting and waste-carrier duties) and, where relevant, your consent (for example when you tick the consent box on our quote form).
5. Website forms and email
This website has no database and stores nothing about you. When you submit the quote form, the details you enter are sent directly to our email inbox so we can reply. They are not saved on this site, not used for advertising and never sold to third parties.
6. Who we share it with
We share personal data only where it is necessary, and only with:
- our own crew members and, where used, approved subcontractors carrying out your job;
- our email, telephony and messaging providers, who process data on our behalf;
- our insurers, accountants or legal advisers where a claim or legal obligation requires it;
- licensed waste and recycling facilities, where documentation is legally required for clearance work.
7. How long we keep it
Quotes that do not become bookings are deleted within 12 months. Booking, payment and job records are kept for six years to meet HMRC and limitation-period requirements. Correspondence relating to a claim is kept until the matter is fully resolved and any appeal period has expired.
8. Keeping your data secure
We use password-protected, access-controlled accounts and devices, limit access to staff who need it, and use reputable providers with encryption in transit. No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed as completely secure, but we take all reasonable steps to protect your information.
9. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- be informed about how your data is used;
- request a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- request erasure where we no longer need the data;
- restrict or object to certain processing;
- request portability of data you provided to us;
- withdraw consent at any time, where consent is the basis we rely on.
10. Making a request or complaint
To exercise any of the rights above, email moveremovaluk@gmail.com or call 07886 251928. We will respond within one calendar month. If you are unhappy with our response you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
11. Cookies and analytics
This website is a static site and does not set marketing or tracking cookies. If we add analytics in future, this policy will be updated first and any non-essential cookies will require your consent.
12. Children
Our services are aimed at adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data relating to children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The version published on this page is always the current one, and the effective date below tells you when it last changed.
